Unique tests of the Impulse Storm
technology under extreme conditions
Live heptane fires were extinguished with the ground surface at +80 °C and +61 °C inside the test box. Heptane evaporation ran 11 times above its rate under normal conditions — and 20 grams of active extinguishing agent per cubic metre was still sufficient.
Test box — +61 °C
Fuel — heptane
Test result
Under these conditions the evaporation of heptane was 11 times higher than under normal conditions. Extinguishment was nevertheless achieved with 20 grams of active fire-extinguishing agent per cubic metre — 7 times less, and 7 times more effective, than any other standard aerosol generator.
Test conditions
The tests were carried out at a ground-surface temperature of +80 °C, with +61 °C inside the test box. The fuel was heptane.
The result
At these temperatures heptane evaporated 11 times faster than under normal conditions. Extinguishment was nevertheless achieved with 20 grams of active fire-extinguishing agent per cubic metre of protected volume.
7 times less — and 7 times more effective — than any other standard aerosol generator.
